X-Ray Shredding and Film Recycling

Standard radiology X-rays plus other sensitive medical film — dental, mammography, MRI and CT sheets, and the jackets and envelopes they are filed in. Most calls come from practices that went digital years ago and still have a room of film nobody has been willing to touch.

The paper side of a chart purge can go in the same project. Film destruction is handled at our facility rather than in a mobile truck, and one boundary to note: we destroy X-rays but do not scan them. If the images need to be preserved digitally, that has to happen before disposal.

Tell us roughly how much film you have — a few boxes or a full storage room — and we schedule a secure collection at your practice. Background-checked staff load it, and the material stays under documented chain of custody from your building to destruction.

Volume is easier to estimate than most people expect: film boxes are heavy, so a shelf that looks manageable is often several hundred pounds. If you also have paper charts, hard drives, or old backup media going out at the same time, mention it and we will quote the whole cleanout as one visit.

Yes. Every job closes with a Certificate of Destruction recording the date, the location, and what was destroyed, which is the document your compliance file needs and the one an auditor asks for. Ask for a sample certificate before you schedule if you want to see the format first.
