Photo Scanning and Slide Digitizing

All three. 35mm slides are scanned at either 2500 or 4000 dpi depending on how much detail you want to pull out of the film. Photos up to 8x10 run through the automatic feeder, and anything up to 11x17, including non-standard shapes and full scrapbook pages, is captured overhead.

Photos still mounted in an album can be scanned and cropped in place, so nothing has to be pried off a sticky page. Fragile prints, thick stock, and newsprint clippings go on the flatbed instead. Bring the collection as it sits, and we will sort the handling at intake rather than making you disassemble anything first.

Slip an index card in front of each group before you drop the box off and we will label the digital sets to match, at no extra charge. Customers use it for anything: "Dad's Navy years," "Christmas 1978," "the lake house." It is the single best thing you can do before bringing photos in.

If you would rather not sort it yourself, we offer custom folder organization for a small per-folder fee and will build the structure from whatever grouping already exists in the box. Photo enhancements, such as correcting the color shift and fading that decades in an attic produce, are included in the scanning price rather than sold as an upgrade.

Your originals are returned to you along with the digital files on a USB flash drive or DVD. You are welcome to bring your own unopened flash drive if you would rather not buy one from us. Because the work is done here in Matthews, the pickup is a short drive rather than a tracking number you refresh for three weeks.

A minimum job charge applies to photo and slide scanning, and per-photo pricing drops as the count goes up, so a full collection costs less per image than a small batch. If you would rather not keep the prints once they are digitized, we can shred and recycle them securely for a percentage of the job cost.
